Building the Dragonfly 15

My love affair with wooden boats

In the early 1980’s I developed a fascination with wooden boats. The scope of my interest included construction methods and design. I daydreamed about building my own small sailboat. After exploring designs that were available in the classified ads of Wooden Boat magazine, I settled on a design and ordered a set of plans for the Dragonfly 15.

The naval architect, Chris White, was a multi-hull enthusiast. The design was based on the sailing proa concept. The design used the cold molding technique and featured a stay-less mast.

This the story of my building the boat. Getting into where I enjoyed sailing it on the water many times, may appear as additions to the story.
