While semi-retired, I continue to provide service engagements in two broad, and slightly overlapping areas, 1) wood working projects that lead to gift items and artistic pieces, and 2) engineering services.

Custom wood working projects

Prior engagement have included making signs, cutting boards, bowls, corporate logo trivets, clip boards and corporate logo coasters. Descriptions and pictures of these projects can be found on the projects pages.

Engineering services

I was trained as a physicist, earning a masters degree from UNC and specializing in what would now be called computational science. Additionally I have a masters from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. If interested in more detail you can find my profile on linkedin. My skill set is broad including management positions in non-profit R&D labs and startup companies. Engineering skill include mechanical design and fabrication, electronics, embedded systems and software development, along with fiber optics systems.

Recent engagements have included consulting for university research projects involving mechanical design for instrumentation. In addition I’m currently engaged with a startup company providing embedded computer software design for a sensor system.
